We got one of these cards from a friend in America.
Who can tell which one it is?

Are there even cardinals in Europe?

Yes, I’ve seen one.

I’m gonna say the one with the cardinal, because of the “Happy holidays” and because of the cardinal.
Americans don’t say “happy Christmas,” we say, “merry Christmas.” Also, cardinals are a North American bird.
Merry Christmas!

Nope. They’re exclusive to the Western Hemisphere. That there is a male northern cardinal.
Fun facts: cardinals mate for life. And the females are a tawny brown color.

Yes, it’s the “Happy Holidays”.
An American thing which annoys many...

Only recently since certain pundits have decided to sell the idea of a “war on Christmas, and sad, ignorant, bigoted people decided to believe it’s real.
I can remember being a kid and hearing people say “merry Christmas,” “happy holidays,” and “season’s greetings” pretty interchangeably with nobody getting bent out of shape.

I mean, they know you well enough to know you celebrate Christmas, right? So who are they trying to not offend? Oh wait — maybe they bought them in bulk and just sent them to everyone.

I left stonecold an answer to that earlier in thread. Basically, this:
Nope. They’re exclusive to the Western Hemisphere. That there is a male northern cardinal.
Fun facts: cardinals mate for life. And the females are a tawny brown color.

“Season’s Greetings” has always been a thing, but the “Happy Holidays” does seem to be specifically American.
Cards with no indication of why it’s Christmas are universal though.
